Durward ,old english (meaning,- door watcher, door warden, door guard).The name was chosen, because of what I beleive about the real (properly bred rottweiler) is, and should be. Rottweilers were bred, (and in these times) should still be bred as a guard dog. The best all arounder, and when a situation arises (were you ,your loved ones or your property are a target), should be an effective home and personal guardian.  I stress should, because the Rottweiler like a lot of other breeds , is being bred for show, (looks only, and health debilatating size), the protection instincts, along with stability, are being faded out to meet a more publicly plausable canine. Rottweilers are now being bred as labs that look like Rotties. If we bred Hounds for show and looks only, not for there sense of smell and hunting ability, and generations after they could not be used for hunting anymore, would they still be Hounds? This does not mean a Rottweiler should be a mindless law breaking citizen,(and they were never bred that way), but they should be bred with work and conformation , guardian instinct , obediance, and trainability in mind.

We live in Tweed , Ont , Canada, and have been involved with Rottweilers for 20 years. The breeding program devoloped here is of only German style blood line, compact, functional, dark pigmentation, temperment and genetic health in mind. Are dogs are C.K.C or A.K.C registered. We live on a 75 acre farm (still in progress, a real labour of love), we moved here in 2007, were we moved from Kinmount ,Ont ,off of a 25 acre farm ,and were known for or Rottweilers, we have sold rottweilers all over North America.  Our pedigrees boast some of the best bloodlines in the world, and our goal is to produce the best you can find anywhere.
